2022 is flying by, with only 3 months left in the year. For some of you, this year has been great and you’ve been accomplishing everything set before you. For others, it may have started great but then you got lost in the whirlwind of life. You may have lost hope, got distracted from your path, or maybe lost the vision you once had. Let me tell you, you are not alone. In fact, God knew you would have this moment which is why he’s given you his grace. It’s time to get your focus back on the right things such as your goals, your purpose, and your vision.
The enemy wants to keep you distracted, busy, and away from the things you are called to. But we can’t let him win. Here are 6 keys to getting your focus back:
1. Pray and get rid of distractions
Talk to god about your struggles and surrender them to him. Turn away from the things that are distracting you or holding you back. Fast if you feel led too. You can’t move forward without addressing your current state. Put some boundaries in place to help you stay on track.
2. Rewrite your goals and the vision
Rewriting your vision and goals will help you stir up that motivation and excitement you had in the beginning. It’s a reminder of your future and the things to come. It will help bring back the faith and hope you once had. It will also set your mind in the right direction.
3. Write weekly actions that help you work towards those goals.
Write actions you can work on throughout the week that lead to accomplishing your goals. It can be as simple as waking up an hour earlier or making a schedule to follow. Maybe it’s saving a certain amount per week or working out 10 mins each day. Whatever helps you achieve your main goal to start. Creating small actions helps you to stay consistent and accomplish the big actions. Don’t overwhelm yourself by thinking you need to accomplish the big goal by the end of the week. Focus on what you can do now.
4. Hold yourself accountable
It’s always great to have an accountability partner or even a community around you that will help you stay on track. However this may not always be the case, it may just be you and God. Sometimes we have to learn to hold ourselves accountable. We have to become disciplined if we want to move forward. Every day decide you will not fall into the trap of what your flesh wants. Every day that you deny your flesh, you become stronger. The excuse of “that’s just the way I am” is not an option.
Personally, I am not a morning person but in order to get things done, I have to deny my laziness and get up! Every day will not be perfect but the more you do it, it will eventually become your new habit.
5. Remember you can’t do this alone. You need God.
He’s the one who will help you break bad habits, give you the desire to do better, and give you the power to overcome. God won’t lead you to do something that he will not help you with. Doing it without God will lead to failure. Doing it with God will lead to success.
Do all that you can do and let God help you with the rest. Lean on him to help you accomplish your goals. He will lead you down the right path and give you a divine strategy.
6. BE KIND TO YOURSELF! GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK! YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!
That’s it, that’s all :)
