These past 2 months have been really rough for me. First I got Covid and had to quarantine. In the midst of that, I’ve been juggling two jobs for a while at two different locations. Trying to work and recover at the same time, completely exhausted. Then when I recovered from Covid, a couple of weeks later my throat became infected. I had no voice, could barely breathe, and couldn’t sleep. I had to get treatment for that as well. At that point, I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I started to feel so defeated. I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel I was in. Every time I got back up, something else would come and push me down further. I just couldn’t find my balance.
Then one night I realized the negative thoughts I was thinking about my situation and knew
I had to enter into a place of surrender. I couldn’t stay in a defeated mindset and let the enemy win. I had to start doing things out of the ordinary to get to God’s peace, rest, and healing. Like the woman who touched Jesus garment out of faith to receive her healing, Mark 5:21-34.
“For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.”
All I needed was a touch from God to get through my situation. So I had to get out of my normal routine and do something different. I wasn’t able to pray out loud due to my throat so I wrote my prayers. I couldn’t vocally worship him but I still worshiped him from my heart and kept my mind on him. I got up earlier to make devotional time before my day started. I had to release everything that was overwhelming me and enter into his rest. I gave up the idea of what my outcome should look like and accepted God's will.
Sometimes you have to do something out of the ordinary routine to get to your victory. Don’t fight out of your own strength or sit in your defeat. Get to Jesus and rest. He’s the one that will fight your battles. Your victory may happen instantly or it may take time. But get to him daily, he will bring you through.
Every day I choose to keep smiling, not because my life is perfect and nothing ever happens to me but because through it all God is still good. He never stopped being good, even though my circumstances were bad. Life happens sometimes and not all battles are from the enemy. However, Don’t let the enemy trick you into thinking God forgot about you or is not helping you through. He’s with you every step of the way.
I hope this encourages you in times when it seems like nothing is happening or you just can’t get ahead. God is using every season for good. It may be hard but have some crazy faith and show the enemy you can’t be stopped. Switch up your normal routine and do something out of the ordinary. Make some faith moves and watch God work on your behalf. You still have a bright future ahead of you.
Update: I am healed from both sicknesses and just taking it easy. I’m able to eat, sleep, talk, and all that good stuff. But my outlook and faith will never be the same. The enemy can’t have what God has for me.
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT
I love the transparency of this post and how you connected your story to the woman who touched Jesus garment. Your strength is admirable. ❤️
