Every season in our lives requires us to move at a certain pace. There are some seasons where God has you busy stewarding the areas he placed you in. There are some seasons where he needs you to slow down or stride. Or he may have you in a season where he needs you to be still. The key to staying in purpose is knowing the pace God set for you and adjusting to it.
When you are aligned with the pace God set for you:
He’s able to get things to you (ideas, blessings, connections, appointments)
He’s able to use you
You can hear him better
He takes care of you
You are destined to be at the right place at the right time when you are following God's pace in that season. You will not miss out on anything he has for you. You’ll have all the help and provision you need to be your best.
When you don’t get aligned with God's pace, things start to fall out of place. You start to struggle, become weary, and exhausted. You may miss opportunities that were en route for you. You start to lose God's provision. If God is calling you to pick up the pace and steward the multiple areas, but you CHOOSE not to work hard, not give your best, and just cruise through life. You could be missing out or delaying things God is trying to get you to or develop in you.
The same goes for the opposite, if God is calling you to slow down or be still and you're still running on full capacity with no time for anything. You could still be missing out or delaying things God is trying to get to you because you were too busy to even notice. He could be answering your prayers, but your pace didn’t align with where he needed you to be to get the answer.
God gives grace, provision, and favor for where he’s called you to and the pace he set you at. You never wanna operate outside of his place and pace. We tend to do this often when we are focusing on our plans and not God's. For example, if God is directing you to operate at 80% right now, but you choose to operate at 90% because why not? You can do it. That extra 10% is all you, not God. Then you grow tired, exhausted, and want God's help. But he gave you everything you need to operate at 80%.
We have to trust God's plan, even when we feel like we could be doing more or we can’t do more. We have to turn our eyes from our current situations or from what we see other people doing and put them on God as he knows what’s ahead and how to get us there.
Everyone’s race is different, don’t follow the pace of the world. God's pace is what gets you to purpose.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us."
Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT
