It’s something about being at the right place, at the right time.
Meeting the right people at the right time.
Coming into big opportunities at the right time.
We all look forward to reaching those moments but sometimes we lose focus on our purpose along the way. I believe moments like those are directly connected to purpose. It’s confirmation from God that you are exactly where he needs you to be.
I remember a moment I had 4 years ago where I questioned if I was being in purpose and if I was where I was supposed to be in life. I felt lost and wasn’t sure if I was on the right path.
During that time, the idea of stewardship was brought to my attention through a church sermon. I began trying to understand what stewardship was and how to apply that to my life. I started evaluating every area in my life and figuring out ways that I could steward those areas better.
For instance,
-Creating a budget for my finances
-Making sure I give my best at work, showing up on time, having a good work ethic
-Having the right attitude
-Walking in love with the people around me
-Taking care of my home, car, body, etc.
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than people." Colossians 3:23
I learned that when you give your best and steward all areas of your life, God will take care of the rest. He will make sure you are where you need to be and that your blessing gets to you. Even if you are giving your best in the wrong places (job, city, relationship, etc.), he will remove you or them and place you where he needs you to be. But you have to be stewarding that place to see his direction.
When you are being a good steward God will bring blessings to you that will give you confirmation. You will see your purpose flourish, your gifts will flow out of you, and you will see God's vision.
When I applied this to my life, I gained so much clarity. My trust in God grew because I knew he would direct my path as long as I am stewarding my NOW.
You don’t have to fight for positions, raises, relationships, opportunities, recognition. You don’t have to compete or find a shortcut to get to where you want to be. Stewardship brings blessings straight to you. Stewardship will have your name mentioned in rooms you haven’t been in yet. God will allow the right people to see your stewardship even if it feels like no one sees you. Sometimes life or new seasons will cause you to question your path over and over, but just keep stewarding. You will keep getting God's wisdom and confirmation as long as you need it.
"If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking." James 1:5
Be obedient and faithful in your NOW.
Strive for excellence in all you do.
Your stewardship is leading you to your “Right Place, Right Time” moments.
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than people." Colossians 3:23
